Mavis Staples to perform at Grammy pre-telecast show

Gospel legend Mavis Staples will perform at The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards pre-telecast ceremony Saturday at 8 p.m. at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, 9501 N. Skokie Boulevard in north suburban Skokie.

Skokie Boulevard in north suburban Skokie. Staples was recently awarded a Grammy for “Oh Happy Day” (Best Traditional Gospel Album), “Waiting For My Child To Come Home” performed with Patty Griffin. Full-priced  tickets for Mavis Staples range in price from $50 to $60  according to individual; special seating level selected. THE CENTER FOR PERFORMING ARTS at Governors State University features an evening of jazz standards presenting jazz vocalist Ava Logan on March 19 at 8 p.m. This amazing jazz vocalist will interpret jazz legends of Ella Fitzgerald and Nancy Wilson.
