Mary Mary, Fred Hammond headline Gospel Fest

CHICAGO (AP) — Fred Hammond, Mary Mary and Take 6 are among the acts headlining this year’s Chicago Gospel Music Festival.

CHICAGO (AP) — Fred Hammond, Mary Mary and Take 6 are among the acts headlining this year’s Chicago Gospel Music Festival.

The Blind Boys of Alabama, Byron Cage and J. Moss also will perform on the main stage at the festival, which runs June 21 to 24. The city’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events announced the lineup on Tuesday. The festival includes performances in Millennium Park, the Chicago Cultural Center and in the Bronzeville neighborhood.

The weekend also includes activities for children, health outreach and a trolley tour of churches important to gospel music.
