Gun violence claimed another child this week. Damier Love, 16, was gunned down shortly before 1 a.m. on Thursday on the West Side. Love, along with two men, were standing in the 5300 block of West Chicago Avenue when a gunman in his early 20s opened fire on the teen, police said. The Marshall High School student was struck in the neck and chest, and pronounced dead on the scene by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. The two men, ages 54 and 46, were also injured. The 54-year-old man was shot in the thigh. He was treated and released from Stroger Hospital. The 46-year-old man is listed in stable condition at Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the hip, police said. No arrests have been made. ______ Copyright 2009 Chicago Defender.
