ATLANTA (AP) — Actor David Mann of Tyler Perry’s sitcom "Meet the Browns" and Christian comedian Chonda Pierce will share the stage for The Dove Awards.

Mann and Pierce will co-host the 43rd annual awards show, which will be taped April 19 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta and aired on GMC on April 24.

More than 1.5 million watched the awards show last year on GMC, formerly known as the Gospel Music Channel. Pierce had several short comedy acts that brought the crowd to laughter during the ceremony.

Mann is known for his role as LeRoy Brown in Perry’s plays, movies and TV shows. He attended the Doves last year alongside his wife Tamala, an actress and singer who won the traditional gospel album of the year.
