A Joliet man has been sentenced to 34 years in prison for the murder of a 16-month-old boy. Twenty-eight-year-old Dymarion Porter was accused of beating and choking Jordan Gentry, the son of Porter’s girlfriend at the time. He was babysitting the child when the murder occurred October 31, 2005. According to Will County state’s attorney’s office, a forensic pathologist found the child died from internal bleeding that resulted from blows to his stomach. He also testified there was bruising on the boy’s upper stomach in the shape of adult knuckles, and bruises on the boy’s neck and chin. Circuit Judge Richard Schoenstedt found Porter guilty of the murder following a bench trial in October 2007. By law, Porter must serve 100 percent of his 34-year prison sentence.  AP ______ Copyright 2008 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
