An 18-year-old man was charged Friday with shooting into a crowd outside a South Side high school that left six teens injured earlier this month.
An 18-year-old man was charged Friday with shooting into a crowd outside a South Side high school that left six teens injured earlier this month. Georgio Dukes, of the 6100 block of South Kimbark Avenue, was charged with five counts of felony aggravated battery with a firearm. Witnesses identified Dukes as the triggerman who opened fire from an SUV at a bus stop in front of Dunbar Vocational Career Academy in the 3100 block of South King Drive. The apparent gang-related shooting occurred at about 8 p.m. while a basketball game inside Dunbar was in triple overtime. Five boys, between ages 15 and 18, none who attended Dunbar, were caught by the gunfire. A sixth person was injured during a fall.
