In a shocking development, major mainstream media minions appeared to show the residence of the white Ferguson, Mo. police officer who shot and killed Michael Brown more than a week ago that sparked uproarious protests.
According to examiner.com, thegatewaypundit.com and sandrarose.com, a CNN reporter drew a map to the home belonging to Mike Brown’s killer Darren Wilson. USA Today mentioned the specific city where he lives, and a Washington Post contributor also gave the street name where Wilson lives.
The Britain’s The Daily Mail went so far as to reportedly give a description of the home. “His house is a $180,000 bungalow with a pool and a basketball hoop in the drive on a sleepy street in a neighborhood that one resident described as ‘solidly middle class’,” according to The Examiner.
This prompted Wilson to take the family out of the city.
According to The Guardian, Officer Darren Wilson was “placed on paid leave and is [currently] in hiding for security,”
The alleged release of sensitive information prompted a conservative blogger to inquire pointedly, “Is the media trying to get Ferguson police office Darren Wilson lynched?”
Thegatewaypundit contributor Kristinn Taylor states:
CNN broadcast a report Friday that showed the house, including the street number, of the Ferguson police officer who police say shot Mike Brown. The officer has been in hiding due to death threats since the shooting last Saturday. His name, Darren Wilson, was just released Friday morning.
Some media outlets have virtually drawn a map to Wilson’s house.
Taylor named other media outlets that either drew maps to Wilson’s home or published photos of the house, including Yahoo News. The writer implied that the national media wanted to make it easy for Ferguson protesters to locate the house so they could get footage of the home being burned to the ground.
After receiving backlash from right wing blogs and Wilson’s supporters CNN withdrew the video from its website.
