Americans are currently witnessing a different expressive style of religious music from twenty-one singers from the United Kingdom whose recently released album “The British Are Coming” hit the air waves July 20. “The British Are Coming! album has already captivated thousands of individuals with its explosive contemporary style that is overwhelming with universal passion, however penetrating for its righteous zeal. Isaac Odeniran, president of Zoe Records stopped by Defender offices along with promoter David Coleman, and entertainers JayEss, Yemi and Beverly Moore, Zoe Records award-winning vocalist who is an internationally gifted singer. The group is currently touring the U.S., with stops in Texas, Ohio, Georgia, Michigan and Indiana, in addition to Illinois. JayEss said he and several friends were talking about eternal salvation one night, and all of them decided to give their lives over to Christ. “My whole life took on another dimension,” the popular entertainer remarked, “because I realized that the music which was presented didn’t glorify God. I joined the Christian Life City congregational right away that was connected with London College. As a result the group of individuals began singing religious songs and brought together twenty-one vocalists and instrumentalists who signed with Zoδ records. The collection of singers from all over London quickly earned fame. The presentation of their music varied from gospel to sacred anthems, from traditional secular to hip-hop, and the “The British Are Coming!” CD is amazingly unique, diversified and dynamic in every respect. “When my life changed I studied the word of God in order to accomplish a blending melody, rhythm and lyrics of the songs so they would express more than entertainment, they demonstrated our true belief in the Creator from the depth of our souls,” JayEss told the Defender.
