LLINOIS BLACK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE RECOGNIZES CAMELOT ILLINOIS WITH OUTSTANDING CORPORATE LEADERSHIP AWARD

The Illinois Black Chamber of Commerce recognized Camelot Illinois by awarding its Outstanding Corporate Leadership Award during the Chamber’s 14th annual convention in East Peoria, Illinois.

This award is given to an individual or organization that is a champion for creating and maintaining diversity within their community. The award recipient also displays a high level of commitment to the needs of the Blackbusiness community and possess a high level of integrity, leading by example.

“As a new business in Illinois, Camelot has worked hard to distinguish itself as a good corporate citizen by reaching out to minority-owned businesses about the work they do on behalf of the Illinois Lottery,” said Illinois BlackChamber of Commerce President/CEO Larry Ivory. “In its first year, Camelot has shown a strong commitment to leveling the playing field for diverse businesses by enabling them to successfully compete for and win contracts.”

Camelot Illinois remains committed to providing meaningful opportunities for businesses owned by minorities, women, and persons with disabilities to participate in contracts to achieve the economic benefits of doing business with the State of Illinois.

During the last fiscal year, Camelot surpassed its obligations under the State’s Business Enterprise Program (BEP) and exceeded its goal by 171%, with more than $15 million in contracts awarded to BEP vendors. Additionally, more than one-third of Camelot’s employees identify as a minority.

“It is an honor to be recognized by the Illinois Black Chamber of Commerce with this award. At Camelot, we strive to incorporate high standards of diversity and inclusion in all we do,” Camelot Illinois General Manager Colin Hadden said. “Every day I am inspired by our employees’ commitment to these standards.”
