Living and Breathing Again with Singer, Sandy Redd.

Singer, Songwriter, Actress, Entrepreneur and activist, Chicago native, Sandy Redd is a performer that commands a stage. Her passion for music was first introduced by her late Mother, Evangelist Margaret Owens Bussie.  She wowed America with her show stopping performances on NBC’s “The Voice.”  She commands the stage with her captivating “Rock Soul” energy, her impeccable delivery, her soulful voice and passion-filled performances. Nominated for R&B Entertainer of the Year in 2018 and Best Female Vocalist in 2019 for the Chicago Music Awards, her talents have taken her all over the world.

Sandy Redd continues to create music for her ever-growing fan base. Her latest single, “Live and Breathe Again” is a powerful piece about what it is like raising black children and being black.  The Chicago Defender had an opportunity to talk with Sandy Redd about her Chicago roots, how the pandemic affected her, her new single and upcoming new album, “Seeing Redd.”
