The G.L.A.M. Women and Girls’ Conference announced that television anchor Karen Jordan, of ABC-7 Chicago will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural one-day conference. This one-of-a-kind conference will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016. The lineup of motivational speakers includes Relationship Coach Yanni Brown along with 13 other leading businesswomen and thinkers. This event draws women of all ages and backgrounds who are interested in building leadership, communication strategies and work-life balance tools.
“We really don’t see enough events that give both women and girls an opportunity to be educated, inspired and fellowship all at the same event,” said Tiffini Holmes, who is a wellness coach and one of the conference organizers. “We wanted to provide sessions for teens and women that they would find useful.”
Registration is now open at GLAMconference.net and registrants can also sponsor teen attendees. The conference name, G.L.A.M., stands for goals, life and money which serves as primary focus of the day. Jordan and other speakers will share their experience and expertise on a range of topics including health and wellness, personal branding, self-esteem and entrepreneurship.
“We hope that attendees use this event as an opportunity to network and uplift each other in a day when we really need to see more woman-to-woman support,” said Dawn Jamison, who is a career coach and conference organizer. “This is the reason we’re hosting a networking mixer on June 10 leading up to the conference.”
The conference will be held at the Skokie Banquet and Conference Center and the networking mixer will be held on June 10 at the adjoining Bar Louie, at 5300 W. Touhy Ave., from 7 to 9 p.m.
“We want to give women the skills and information they need to advance in their lives,” said Holmes. “At the same time, we also want to start a dialogue with the next generation to follow in our footsteps.”
The lunch segment of the conference features the GLAM Walk Fashion show and red carpet event. This segment will feature budding area fashion designers that will showcase an array of professional looks for women.
