Leo Abelo Perry: Small Age, Big Talent

Leo Abelo Perry is a name to remember for years to come. Activist, actor, and honor student-athlete, Leo Abelo Perry has blazed a trail most adults triple his age have not begun to accomplish. Except for his school studies, his activism is also an essential part of his work.

The Black Lives Matter movement, environmental causes, and food insecurity are just a few of the movements Leo Abelo Perry is passionate about. His organization, the Dance for Justice movement, has raised more than $20,000. These funds were distributed to various organizations that inspire and support youth through the arts, music, and sports. At age 7, he attended his peaceful Black Lives Matter rally, and it lit a spark in him that helped him discover the importance of the voices of young people. He believes the next generation has unlimited possibilities to create new ways of thinking and progressive solutions.

Leo Abelo Perry is a multi-talented young man.  He is an honor student and a three-sport athlete who plays basketball, football, and soccer. In addition, he is the host and co-founder of The Activators, a kid-designed podcast that discusses various issues and subject matters important to youth. His platform provides kids with a fantastic opportunity to engage with other game-changing young people to spread love and inspire others.

Leo Abelo Perry has worked on ABC’s Black-ish and Fox’s Big Leap as an actor. He currently stars in the Disney remake “Cheaper By The Dozen,” along with screen legends Gabrielle Union and Zach Braff. Luka (Perry) is an adorable yet fun mischievous twin who, along with his sister Luna (Mykal-Michelle Harris), adds love and a bit of mayhem in the film. Perry says that he learned an incredible amount on set between takes and filming. In addition, he says working with Union and Braff was amazing.

He also loved working with the other child actors. He said with so many different personalities, and everyone got along wonderfully. Perry said the long workdays seemed to fly by because of the large crew and daily activities. He loved the experience and believed he made bonds that would last a lifetime.

At nine years old, Leo Abelo Perry is destined to forge future bonds everyone can be proud of with his activism, acting, and scholarship.
