The final installment in the four-part series “Black in Latin America” on the influence of African descent on Latin American airs Tuesday on PBS.

The final installment in the four-part series “Black in Latin America” on the influence of African descent on Latin American airs Tuesday on PBS.

Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. explored the unknown history of the significant numbers of Black people in six countries –– Brazil, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Mexico and Peru.

The series premiered April 19, “Haiti & the Dominican Republic: An Island Divided” and the final episode, “Mexico & Peru: The Black Grandma in the Closet” airs May 10.

Each episode is available on www.pbs.org the day after broadcast.
