Kindred the Family Soul and Juvenile to Headline 2nd Annual Englewood Music Fest

16th Ward Alderman Stephanie Coleman announced the 2nd annual Englewood Music Fest.  The fest will be held in conjunction with the 6th year anniversary of the Englewood Square Mall. The Greater Englewood Community Development Corporation (GECDC) is the fiscal agent and partnering 501c3 for the event. Collectively they will celebrate “Englewood Excellence” — it’s past, present. and future. The event will feature live music, local vendors, back-to-school programming and prizes, an e-game tournament, and more!

In a statement, Alderwoman Coleman said, “I’m grateful to have such a soulful and dynamic duo like Kindred The Family Soul and the other performers returning to their roots to bring joy, laughter, and peace to the thousands expected in attendance. Englewood is the very fiber of Chicago that produces talent, wonderful musicians, and products that can be viewed and heard nationwide. We are truly ENGLEWOOD PROUD!!”

The organizers are excited to coordinate this important event and are encouraging businesses and institutional partners who have helped revitalize the area to join in the sponsorship of this historic event for the Englewood area.

The day-long event will be free to the public and start at Noon on Halsted near 63rd Street. It will feature local and nationally renowned musical artists like Juvenile, food, retail, and service vendors, health awareness and screenings, school supplies, youth activities, and a senior pavilion. Festival organizers anticipate over 5000 community residents in attendance.

Kindred The Family Soul and Juvenile will headline amongst a spectacular lineup of local talent and well-known performers. Kindred the Family Soul is an American Neo Soul married couple consisting of Fatin Dantzler and Aja Graydon. Both artists have been in the business for years and have had opportunities to create groundbreaking work with artists like Bel Biv Devoe, Bj the Chicago Kid, and Raheem Devaughn. The duo has been nominated for Soul Train Awards for their contributions to the soul music world.
