Kilpatrick faces misconduct after visit with wife

Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s wife might not be able to visit him in state prison anymore.

DETROIT (AP) — Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s wife might not be able to visit him in state prison anymore. Corrections spokesman Russ Marlan says a guard saw Kilpatrick touch Carlita Kilpatrick’s breast July 4 on a video monitor at Oaks Correctional Facility in Manistee. Marlan says all prisoners know about the prison’s policy allowing embraces at the start and end, but contact is limited to holding hands during visits. Kilpatrick’s spokesman, Mike Paul, called the accusation "ridiculous." Kilpatrick is being held in federal custody on separate fraud and tax charges. He could lose visiting privileges with his wife when, and if, he is returned to state custody. He was sentenced to up to five years in prison in May on a probation violation.
