Kenneth King is the Senior Manager of Supplier Development and Vendor Management at Aetna Better Health of Illinois (ABHIL), the third largest managed care organization responsible for over 430,000 Medicaid members in Illinois.Kenneth recruits and forms relationships with diverse suppliers including Woman-, LGBTQ-, Service Disabled Veteran- and Person with Disability-Owned businesses, as well as Small Business Enterprises. He identifies vendors that reflect demographics served by Medicaid to ensure ABHIL’s suppliers reflect diversity and inclusivity.
At ABHIL, Kenneth has surpassed his $150M goal in Diverse Supplier Spend through mission-driven supplier engagement and organizational change. His engagement with the CVS Health Supplier Diversity Program also created 41K jobs, $2.8B in wages and $7.4B production impact in 2022.
As the founder of the New Concepts Tutor/Mentor Connection nonprofit organization, Kenneth has served over 5,000 students in Chicago and disadvantaged suburban schools.
Kenneth serves on councils such as the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council and The National Association of Women Business Owners. He earned a BA in Mass Communications/Public Relations from Western Illinois University and is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
