City of Chicago Heights Alderman Kelli Merrick, a dedicated advocate for her lifelong community in south suburban Cook County, stands as an emerging leader with an already impressive track record.

A committed advocate for education, Kelli served on the Boards of Education for both CHSD 170 and Bloom Township HSD 206, and previously presided over the St. Agnes Catholic School Athletic Board while coaching and coordinating youth teams. Actively engaged as an Executive Board Member for the Democrats of Bloom Township, the Chicago Heights Lions Club, and Union Street Art Gallery Board of Directors, Kelli spearheads collaborative initiatives and projects that bridge diverse populations and organizations.

She aspires to build a creative, collaborative, and synergistic environment that addresses challenges and generates positive, lasting change. Kelli combines civic influence with a passionate commitment to community impact through the arts, horticulture, and youth empowerment. Beyond her civic titles, Kelli is Assistant to the Superintendent of Bloom Township HSD 206, a graduate of the Illinois Women’s Institute for Leadership Training Academy (IWILTA) Class of 2022, a devoted mother, “mom-ager,” wife, and daughter.
