Fresh off a successful first season of her television show "True Jackson, VP" and the release of her "So Uncool" CD, south suburban native Keke Palmer now adds clothing designer to her portfolio.
The singer/actress debuted last November as the star in the Nickelodeon weekly hit, half-hour long show as the vice president of a fashion empire. Now as the show gears up for a second season, female fans of the show can start wearing the “Mad Styles” of Palmer’s character, True.
“Mad Styles by True Jackson is geared towards teen girls and younger. They decided it was a good idea to do a clothing line since people like the show so much,” Palmer told the Defender during a recent trip to Chicago.
While she hasn’t sketched any of the ‘Mad’ styles herself, Palmer often gives her opinion about the line that’s currently sold in Wal-Mart stores, she said. Items are priced at $14 or less, according to the retail giant.
The soon-to-be 16-year-old starts filming soon on the show’s new season, but also has a movie–"Shrink"–coming out this summer with actor Kevin Spacey and Robin Williams.
“Kevin Spacey’s character is a shrink and many of his clients connect in some way. I play 17-year-old Jemma Fossey who is trying to find her way because her mother recently died. He becomes my shrink and we help each other,” said Palmer who’s also busy writing songs for her new CD.
