Justice wanted for woman fatally shot by police

A couple hundred residents marched Tuesday in the Lawndale neighborhood near the scene –– in the 3100 block of West 15th Place –– where Antonio Cross, 39, and Rekhia Boyd, 22, were shot by an off-duty Chicago police officer.

A couple hundred residents marched Tuesday in the Lawndale neighborhood near the scene –– in the 3100 block of West 15th Place –– where Antonio Cross, 39, and Rekhia Boyd, 22, were shot by an off-duty Chicago police officer.

Cross was shot in the hand; Boyd in the head. She succumbed to her injury two days later.

Police said the office was investigating a disturbance when he was allegedly approached by Cross with a gun. A weapon was not recovered, according to a police spokesman.
