In an outstanding contest, the Jackie Robinson West stars pulled out a 4-3 win over Hinsdale in the highlight game of the day Sunday. Jackie Robinson West scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Leading JRW to the win was starting pitcher Jamari McKinney, who pitched five strong innings. Leading the offense was Elijah Stallings with two hits, Ako Thomas with two hits and Terrance Robertson who blasted a homer. Dion Earls, Vondell Strong and A.J. Lewis came up with big defensive plays for the team. Tonight at Jackie Robinson Park Stadium, the team will battle Tri-Cities Little League in a second round contest. Game time is 8 p.m. Meanwhile, in the 12-year-old tournament in Indianapolis Sunday, Jackie Robinson West suffered their first loss of the season in an 8-7 setback to Indiana. Jackie Robinson led 7-3 in the fifth inning, but Indiana battled back to notch the win.
