John, a lifelong Chicagoan, attended Sherwood, Tilden High, and Pine Bluff High Schools, where he excelled in track and field, earning an athletic scholarship to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He graduated with a degree in Social Work.
A passionate reader and traveler, he has explored destinations worldwide, fostering a broad perspective. With over 20 years of experience at The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones and The New York Times, John served as Director of Sales Promotions and Marketing, managing national election rollouts. He co-owned Instep Shoe Store and co-published Chez Fashion Magazine in Chicago, demonstrating a entrepreneurial spirit.
Presently self-employed, he operates a healthcare and benefits consultancy, mentoring over 60 successful agents, with six achieving partnership status and exceeding $1 million in production.
Actively engaged in the UAPB Alumni Association Chicago Chapter, John is committed to raising scholarship funds for aspiring college students. For 25 years, he has contributed to a community-based Men’s Club, fostering mentorship and civic engagement among youth.
