Jennifer Beckham found her passion for working with children at Warren Sharpe Community Center in Joliet while simultaneously attending Lewis University in 2000. This is when she realized she enjoyed helping others. She graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Human Resources. In 2008, she pursued her master’s degree and in 20ll she graduated with her Masters in Social Work from Aurora University. In 2012, she worked as a supervisor of an alternative school where she helped students learn ways to manage their behaviors by creating programming to support the needs of the students in addition to supervising/training a staff of 27 on de-escalation, rapport-building, and crisis intervention. In 2019, she became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, (LCSW), and in December 2022, she started her private practice to provide therapeutic services (with a focus on Mental Health for Black People), EAP services, self-esteem workshops, and advocates for domestic violence survivors. She has spent 18+ years working in mental health, implementing programs, and helping youth. She believes if you change your mindset your life will change.
