Janet Jackson’s next stage is the operating room where she will undergo surgery. The triple threat magnetic and fierce entertainer recently announced that she is going to have to postpone the remainder of her concerts this year because of health issues.
It hasn’t been an easy ride—this tour. This announcement followed another  earlier this year, that she’d be reentering the spotlight with the Unbreakable World Tour for more than 70 concerts all over the world introducing the release of her latest album, of the same name Unbreakable, and marks her first in seven years.
It was her break from an hiatus that followed her marriage, which seems to suit her and although her fans were happy for her, they missed her especially since the death of Michael Jackson; the absence of two dynamic Jacksons  in the entertainment arena was just too much.
Excitement thrilled her fans and tickets were sold out immediately upon release of sales. Additional dates had to be added. Unfortunately, the tour has since been fraught with multiple challenges and concert date changes. Early on in preparation for the tour Janet had to break from the demanding rehearsal schedule to visit her father, Joe, who’d suffered a stroke while in Brazil. After just a  few months on tour in Canada during August, her doctor put her on vocal rest, forcing her to reschedule multiple shows.
One of the concerts—originally planned for October 25 at Denver’s Pepsi Center—was rescheduled for January 9, kicking off the 2016 leg of her tour.  Yet another challenge: On Christmas eve, Janet announced via social media that she’d have to postpone the entire tour due to a non-disclosed medical ailment.
“I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon,” wrote Janet. “It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring.” Private woman that she is, Ms. Jackson, oops! Mrs. Al Mana didn’t specify why she needed surgery—or whether the procedure is at all related to her earlier vocal rest—but she did ask fans to “Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time.”
New dates for the tour have not been provided however she promised fans (just like she did in the fall) that their tickets would be honored at some point—this time, apparently, with some kind of added bonus. “Every date will be rescheduled. Please hold on to your tickets,” she wrote. “They will be honored in a special way when the new schedule is announced.”
She concluded her message optimistically: “I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understanding and your love. Gon’ b alright.”
And just like loved ones, her loyal fans from all over the world have been sending their love and get well wishes since making the announcement.
They know she’s well worth the wait.
