The Art Institute of Chicago will host the Opening event  of the Invisible Man_ Gordon Parks and Ralph Ellison in Harlem” exhibition, May 20, 2016 at 6:00pm–9:00pm in the Rubloff Auditorium and Griffin Court.
 

This fabulous exhibition the Invisible Man: Gordon Parks and Ralph Ellison in Harlem offers an unprecedented look at the collaborative work of these esteemed figures in American art between 1948 and 1952.

The opening event, hosted by the Leadership Advisory Committee of the Art Institute of Chicago, includes a performance by the Congo Square Theatre followed by a lively conversation among Natalie Moore, WBEZ reporter and author; LaToya Ruby Frazier, photographer and recent MacArthur Fellow; and Michal Raz-Russo, the exhibition’s curator. A first look at the exhibition and a reception in the Modern Wing’s dramatic Griffin Court follow.
