International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 2 Endorses Paul Vallas for Mayor

Union Praises Vallas for Commitment to Fight for Working Families

CHICAGO, IL — Paul Vallas is continuing to build momentum in the campaign for Mayor, today announcing the endorsement of the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 2 labor union. Vallas has consistently been among the top candidates in recent publicly available polling and is outspending all other mayoral challengers in television advertising.

“The hardworking men and women of I.U.E.C. Local 2 and other blue collar workers are the backbone of our city’s middle class, and they deserve a Mayor who will stand up for them by making Chicago a safer place for everyone who lives and works here,” said Vallas. “I’m proud to receive this endorsement today and to continue building on our campaign’s momentum as we work to reach more voters with our message of putting crime and public safety first.”

“I.U.E.C Local 2 is proud to endorse Paul Vallas for Mayor,” said I.U.E.C. Local 2 President & Business Manager Juan Gonzalez, Jr. “The men and women of Elevator Constructors Local 2 know that Paul Vallas was a strong proponent of the Worker’s Rights Amendment and, as Chicago’s next Mayor, will support the health and welfare of Local 2’s membership as well as advocate on behalf of all the hard working families in Chicago’s strong Labor workforce.”
