Chicago, IL – The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 762 of Chicago Broadcast Technicians has endorsed Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot for reelection, they announced on Wednesday. IATSE Local 762 represents technicians and artists working in broadcast in the greater Chicagoland area and Illinois who specialize in live and recorded sports, entertainment and corporate events. This endorsement comes on the heels of many others in the Chicago entertainment industry, including IATSE Locals 2, 476, 110, 750, 769 and the Chicago Entertainment Industry Labor Council.
“Mayor Lightfoot has gone up against a slew of unforeseen challenges during her time in office, but through it all, she has proven her commitment to working Chicagoans – especially those in broadcast and entertainment,” said Fran O’Hern, President of IATSE Local 762. “Our livelihoods were at stake when sports, entertainment and corporate events were put on pause, but Mayor Lightfoot made sure that our members had the support they needed to feel secure and the health resources necessary to return to venues safely – not only for us, but for the talent and audiences we cater to. We at IATSE Local 762 are proud to endorse Mayor Lightfoot for reelection and look forward to working together for four more years.”
