Officials with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources say they’ll soon be taking applications for conservation police officers. Conservation officers are state employees whose duties include patrolling state parks. The officers also enforce a number of laws, including those on boat safety and endangered species. Some qualifications include having a two-year degree and three consecutive years of experience as a full-time police officer.
