SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — State health officials say the number of swine flu cases in Illinois has swelled to more than 2,500. There have been 10 deaths related to virus. The Illinois Department of Public Health released new numbers Friday. The tally of 2,526 probable and confirmed cases rose from the last week’s total by more than 500 cases. Swine flu has been concentrated in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. But 26 counties have had at least one case. Chicago has had four deaths. Cook County also has reported four deaths, and there has been one death each in Kane and Lake counties.
