
Voters in heavily Democratic Illinois go to the polls Tuesday for primary elections that will set the November slate for governor, U.S. Senate, several congressional districts and legislative seats.

1. GOP EYES GOVERNOR’S MANSION
Republicans will choose a nominee to take on Gov. Pat Quinn in what they see as their best opportunity to reclaim the Illinois governor’s mansion after more than a decade of Democratic control. Quinn faces a little-known Democratic challenger and is widely expected to win Tuesday.
