IlliniCare Health, a subsidiary of Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC), will hold a Grand Opening of its community center (The Better Center) located at 4000 West Roosevelt Road Chicago. The Better Center has been relocated to a more visible and larger space – strategically located within the heart of the Lawndale community to serve IlliniCare Health members, as well as the community as a whole.

At the Better Center, IlliniCare Health members and residents within the community can use the space as a resource for:

• Information on available health and social services

• Healthy living workshops and other educational classes

• Local community events

• A meeting ground for local neighborhood groups and businesses

“IlliniCare Health is focused on our purpose to transform the health of the community, one person at a time,” said Michael Marrah, Plan President and COO of IlliniCare Health. “Providing easier access to health resources for our members and to the people within the Lawndale community will help enable them to live healthier lives. We know that by focusing on individuals, being involved locally, and looking at the whole health of our members, we can make a difference in their health—one person at a time.”

IlliniCare Health hopes the brick-and-mortar presence will provide another channel for its members, who now reach-out to IlliniCare Health via phone and online. It’s another option that allows us to tailor our service to the needs of the individual. Most importantly, the Better Center will be viewed as a valuable resource for the whole community.
