ANTIOCH, Ill. — A north suburban Chicago man has been arrested for punching a youth baseball coach over a comment made after a game. Scott Knudsvig of Antioch has been charged with battery and criminal damage to property. Police say the 42-year-old punched and shoved the coach of his son’s opposing team. Officials say the coach’s glasses were broken, and he suffered swelling and abrasions. The altercation allegedly took place while the 13- and 14-year-old players were lining up after a game to shake hands. Knudsvig says the coach was rude to his son. He says he pushed the coach but didn’t punch him. Knudsvig says he was then assaulted by about 10 other parents who tackled him. He says he has marks "all over" his chest. Police say only one other parent intervened. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
