“I Said what I Said” Podcast Addresses Issues in Black Community from Male Perspective

Herb Howard and Toussaint (Tou) Werner discuss relevant topics impacting Black people from an unapologetically Black male perspective with their podcast, “I Said what I Said” podcast. Both natives from the Southside of Chicago, Herb and Tou bring their passion, intelligence, and comedic timing to their ever-growing audience.

They call their perspective “Intellectual Thuggery” because while these college-educated Black men are cerebral in their thought process, they also recognize White supremacy relies on brute force and honesty. They believe their podcast is important because it allows Black men to tackle prominent issues from a Black male perspective, something they believe fills a void in the marketplace. From politics, and trending topics to love and relationships, Herb and Tou tackle it all.

The Chicago Defender spoke with Herb and Tou about the podcast and why having these conversations with Black men is so important.
