Hundreds to March Throughout Controversial Mt. Greenwood Neighborhoods for Justice and Peace

(Chicago, IL) – Early Walker- Owner of Walker and McFarland Funeral Services- will along with Bishop Larry Trotter, Chicago Comedian Damon Williams, Activist Andrew Holmes, and other Chicago celebrities will lead hundreds of peace marchers throughout Chicago’s infamous Mount Greenwood neighborhood to promote equality and justice.

“Clearly Mount Greenwood historically has been the home of racial prejudice, police brutality and racism. Although the stereotype does not truly reflect every resident of Mt. Greenwood, the continued racist activities in the area shed an ugly cloud over the area,” says Early Walker.

The march will begin at 111th and Western and proceed south to 115th Street. The mass gathering will then walk west on 115th street and culminate at the Mt. Hope Cemetery located at 115th and Fairfield. It is there where several Chicago notables and celebrities will offer their voices to bring attention to the racial problems of Chicago, Cook County, and the Nation.

Several funeral homes will take part in the event by offering their caskets and hearses.

“I have witnessed and participated in many marches throughout the United States. But this particular march speaks to the hurt, pain, and frustration that we parents feel in raising our black boys in this racist society. Being born a black male should not equate to a short life.” says Bishop Larry Trotter.
