CHICAGO (AP) — Traffic in Chicago’s downtown business district was snarled by hundreds of demonstrators who were protesting about a number of issues, including high unemployment, foreclosures and lagging school funding.

Marchers from five rally sites in the Loop on Monday converged on the Art Institute, where a reception was being held for members of the Futures Industry Association and the Mortgage Bankers Association.

Demonstrators targeted a group of people drinking wine while watching the demonstration from inside the museum, with one marcher claiming they were "laughing at us."

One person was arrested during the demonstration for allegedly striking a police officer.

Organizers called the protests "Take Back Chicago."

Groups and organizations involved in the protests included the Chicago Teachers Union, the Service Employees International Union, MoveOn, Occupy Chicago and various immigrant groups.
