Hours after William Balfour was found guilty May 11 of murdering Darnell Donerson, Jason Hudson and Julian King, Jennifer and Julia Hudson prayed for him.

The sisters said in a statement, “We have all suffered a terrible loss in this tragedy. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in them that perish: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn upon them (2 Corinthian 4:3-4). It is our prayer that the Lord will forgive Mr. Balfour of these heinous acts and bring his heart into repentance someday.”

Balfour, the ex-husband of Julia Hudson, will be sentenced to life in prison for the murders of Donerson (mother), Judson (brother) and King (Julia’s son). Jurors said the cellphone tower records were key in their decision to convict in the prosecutors highly circumstantial case. No forensic evidence linked Balfour to the crimes.

Balfour maintains his innocence and will appeal the verdict.
