ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. — A house fire in a Chicago suburb has killed a woman and her son and injured three other family members. Police say 41-year-old Patricia Finnerty and her 11-year-old son, Garrett, died after the early morning fire at their home in Arlington Heights. Arlington Heights Fire Chief Glenn Erickson called the fire suspicious because of the burn patterns in the house. Police said Finnerty’s husband, 46-year-old Kevin Finnerty, was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Authorities said two other children — a 12-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son — were being evaluated, but their injuries weren’t life-threatening. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press.
