Chief Bryant currently serves as the first African American Fire Chief for the Village of Matteson, Illinois. A seasoned public safety executive with over 30 years of fire and emergency services experience, Chief Bryant’s distinguished career is marked by trailblazing leadership, operational excellence, and commitment to mentorship and equity.
Patrick Brutus, an award-winning proven leader, has spent a lifetime leveraging his experiences to help community by working together with stakeholders on economic development matters and policy issues.
In a career that spans public, non-profit and private sectors, Patrick has led development projects to transform communities, address affordable housing and leverage public resources to create opportunities for job creation in Chicago and south suburbs.
After his 18-year career at the City of Chicago, he joined the Community Desk Chicago in a senior role where Patrick continued to work on development projects that focused on wealth building in Chicago’s most under-resourced communities as the Senior Director for Neighborhood Development Strategies. Now as Director of Housing and Development for KLEO Enterprises, he manages the entire real estate portfolio and leads all new development projects.
Patrick has been able to make an impact with residents, civic groups and community leaders, resulting in him being a frequent expert speaker at various events. Patrick resides in Chicago with his wife of 22 years and 3 children.
