Dr. Brian Kelly

As a leader and strategist, Brian Kelly is dedicated to transforming urban education through equity-focused leadership.  Currently serving as the Principal of King College Prep, he leads a vibrant community where he prioritizes inclusive excellence and instructional innovation.  His work is rooted in holistic student growth, and he is proud to have expanded dual credit programs and built support systems that consistently keep his students on track for success. 
 
With over a decade of experience in Chicago Public Schools, Brian has been honored to receive the 2023 ISBE Administrator of the Year, the 2024 Golden Apple Award and his commitment to continuous growth recently led to his recognition as a 2025 Cahn Distinguished Fellow, reflecting his ongoing work in leadership excellence.  Beyond the school’s walls, Brian mentors fellow leaders through the Chicago Leadership Collaborative and the Golden Apple Foundation. 
 
In 2023, he founded Fullbody Leadership, a consulting practice where he helps leaders move beyond the “status quo” to lead with intellect, integrity, and embodied presence.  His approach blends data-driven strategy with culturally responsive practices to spark lasting organizational change.  His ultimate goal is simple: to develop joyful, equitable, and purpose-driven school communities where everyone can thrive.
