HOMEWOOD, Ill. — The Village of Homewood will host its 18thAnnual Homewood Fall Fest from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, on Martin Avenue, from Hickory to Ridge Road.
There will be a pumpkin carving contest for individuals, families, organizations and businesses. There also will be a Safety Town bike race for kids and a bags tournament. There will be live entertainment, horse-drawn wagon rides and an outdoor viewing of “Aladdin” starring Will Smith.
“Homewood Fall Fest is my favorite event of the year,” said Mayor Rich Hofeld. “We like to offer festival goers new activities each year to keep things exciting while maintaining things like the chili cook-off that are such a crowd pleaser! This year we have introduced a lot of new activities like the pumpkin carving contest and Safety Town bike race that I think will be a big hit.”
The annual Chili Cook-Off will begin at 2 p.m. and sampling will take place at 3 p.m. A small donation of $5 will go towards the Homewood Arts Council. The winner will receive a cash prize. All participants will receive a complimentary apron. Advanced registration is required.
