This weekend the world can begin to pay its last respects to radio icon Richard Pegue, 64, who died Tuesday from heart failure. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Robert Park Manor Funeral Home, 2510 Chicago Road, in south suburban Chicago Heights. The wake will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at Apostolic Church of God, 6320 S. Dorchester Ave, on Chicago’s South Side. The funeral will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the burial will take place at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, 11500 S. Fairfield Ave., in south suburban Oak Lawn. WVON-AM radio, where Pegue once worked as a music director, and was one of the legendary “Good Guys,” will host a private repast at its South Side Legacy Center facility, 1000 E. 87th St. The legendary DJ and radio/music icon, an alumnus of Hirsch High School on the South Side, most recently worked for WKKC-FM. ______ Copyright 2009 Chicago Defender.
