MILAN, Ill. — A Woodford County mother and daughter have sued McDonald’s Corp. and a Milan (MY’-luhn) McDonald’s, saying they were sickened with hepatitis A after eating at the restaurant. Karie Fiegel of Kappa and her 14-year-old daughter filed the lawsuit Thursday in Rock Island County Circuit Court. It’s the second lawsuit from a McDonald’s patron sickened in a recent hepatitis A outbreak. Attorneys are seeking class-action status in a separate lawsuit on behalf of people who received preventive shots. McDonald’s spokeswoman Danya Proud says the restaurant took immediate action when local health officials notified them about the hepatitis outbreak. Proud says it would be inappropriate to comment further on a pending lawsuit. ______ Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
