Handel’s ‘Messiah’ to be featured on South Side

GEORGE FREDRIC HANDEL’S ‘Messiah’ will be featured Dec. 19 at 10:30 a.m. during Divine Service at the Hartzell United Methodist Church, 3330 S. King Dr., by its Sanctuary Choir and friends under the direction of Prof. Delano O’Banion with soloists Deborah A. Roundtree-Waheed, soprano; Kamaran-Alexis Madison, mezzo-soprano; Jeffrey Burish, tenor and Arthur D. Griffin, Jr., bass, with Charles J. Smith, pianist as accompanist with the Chicagoland Community Orchestra, Delores Diggs, business manager.

DR. RONNIE WOOTEN is serving as guest conductor of the Handel’s “Messiah” during the Monumental Baptist Choir, 729 E. Oakwood Blvd, Dec. 19 at 3 p.m. when its Mass Choir sings Handel’s the famous oratorio. Soloists are Shanka Falls, soprano; Gloria Brown, contralto; Marshall Bennett, tenor and Arthur D. Griffin, Jr., bass. Richard Evans is guest organist and the South Side Family Chamber Orchestra, Leo Harris, business manager will accompany the performance.
