Greater Bronzeville Family Fest Returns June 21 with Free Food, Music, and Community Resources

Thousands are expected to gather on Chicago’s South Side this Saturday, June 21, for the 2025 Greater Bronzeville Family Fest—a free, family-friendly celebration hosted by Bright Star Community Outreach and led by Pastor Chris Harris.

Held at Armstrong Park (4433 S. Lawrence Ave.) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the festival brings together residents from across Greater Bronzeville and beyond for a day focused on joy, unity, and support. Already, more than 1,600 people have registered to attend.

Among the special guests slated to appear are Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, and 3rd Ward Alderman Pat Dowell.

Organizers say the goal is simple: to create a space where families can feel safe, supported, and uplifted.

“At a time when so many families are navigating uncertainty, the Greater Bronzeville Family Fest is a joyful reminder that healing, support, and community strength are within reach,” said the team at Bright Star Community Outreach.

Highlights of the Fest Include:

  • Live entertainment from local artists and performers

  • Complimentary food, games, and rides for children and families

  • Health and wellness resources, giveaways, and community services

  • Giveaways to support local families

  • Activities and resources focused on mental health and trauma-informed care

The event is open to the entire city, but families from the Bronzeville area are especially encouraged to attend. While admission is free, registration is required for express access. You can sign up here:
