Soulful singer, Yolanda Adams, will take time from her nationally syndicated show to co-host the American Music Inaugural Ball in Washington D.C. The former teacher and minister is scheduled to co-host with the legendary Dionne Warwick. Other gospel artists preparing to participate in the historic occasion are Bishop Charles Blake, Kim Burrell, Hezekiah Walker and Shirley Murdock, just to name a few. Although they are not scheduled to perform at the American Music Ball, the singers will be spreading the word in song during the many inaugural festivities to occur during the four-day weekend leading up to Jan. 20. The event is free and will be held on January 17.

Happy belated b-day to Annette “Queenie” Lenox who recently celebrated her 50th birthday at her home church, Greater Holy Temple Church Of God In Christ. Speaking of festivities, Jessy Dixon had a musical dinner bash on New Year’s Day at his south suburban estate, which was once featured in Better Homes and Gardens magazine. Barrett, Darius and Deborah Brooks, Dr. Albertina Walker and yours truly were among the many invited guests.
