Growing up in a family that cultivated and nurtured his artistic endeavors, George Tandy Jr. was meant to be to sit in this spotlight, behind his keyboard, singing from his heart to an assembled group of (music) lovers.
The success of his single “March” has been the engine that’s pushed George around the country on his first tour in support of his debut album The Foundation, which will be released on July 29th.
To celebrate the release of the album, Tandy’s tour arrives at SubCulture, in the heart of New York City for what promises to be a special evening.
Having spent much of the first part of the year climbing the charts and garnering airplay across the country, Tandy hopes The Foundation maintains the momentum and if the recent single Jaded is any indication, he’s definitely laid the groundwork for a great album. There have been comparisons to John Legend and Ne-Yo, but George Tandy Jr. is focused on being him, not following in the footsteps of R&B greats, present or past. The intention of his music is what he wants those in contact to feel, not the inspirations behind him; there’s an importance of connecting his face and his personality to the song that’s touched so many, while introducing those same people to the suite the song is part of.
