CHICAGO (AP) — The former longtime head of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce will become executive director at the Supply Chain Innovation Network of Chicago.

In a statement, SINC officials say Doug Whitley will manage growth of the organization. The leadership council looks at how goods are moved and aims to stimulate regional economic and business growth. The council was developed by World Business Chicago. Those on the council include railway officials and business executives.

Whitley had been head of the chamber more than a decade. He announced retirement plans last year. He’s been replaced at the chamber by Todd Maisch, who has worked for the nonprofit group for years.
