Former Chicago Bear found dead

Floyd Butler, 70, was found in his South Side home with a gunshot wound to the head Monday morning, police said.

Police are looking for clues and suspects in the shooting death of a former running back for the Chicago Bears. Floyd Butler, 70, was found in his South Side home with a gunshot wound to the head Monday morning, police said. At about 1 a.m., relatives arrived at his home in the 7300 block of South Merrill Avenue and noticed the back door had been kicked in. Once inside, Butler’s body was found in a room near the front of the home, police said. Butler played for the Bears in the 1960s and also coached at Simeon high school.
