Fewer restaurants at Taste of Chicago this year

Foot traffic may ease a bit at this year’s Taste of Chicago.

Foot traffic may ease a bit at this year’s Taste of Chicago. Instead of 65 food booths that are normally set up at the annual food festival, patrons will have 10 less to choose from, said a spokeswoman in the Mayor’s Office of Special Events. “We’re looking to open the flow and have people be able to move around more, making it more enjoyable,” said Cindy Gatziolis, spokeswoman for the MOSE. There will be fewer pizza restaurants, and some unnamed vendors didn’t apply this year for booth space. This year’s Taste runs from June 26 to July 5. Here is a list of confirmed entertainment for the Taste of Chicago: June 26: Charlie Wilson and Cameo June 27: Counting Crows June 28: The Wallflowers and Lovehammers June 29: Broadway in Chicago concert, “Mary Poppins,” “Jersey Boys,” “Young Frankenstein,” “Spring Awakening” and “In the Heights.” June 30: Barenaked Ladies July 1: Ne-Yo July 3: Fireworks show with the 85th Army Band July 4: Buddy Guy July 5: Michael Musso and Jordan Pruitt ______ Copyright 2009 Chicago Defender.
