Ferguson on fire again: Arsonist burn down five black churches in 2 weeks

An individual or group of people are determined to reigniting virulent racial strife in Ferguson, Mo. when they set fire to five black churches over the period of nine days in the same city where Michael Brown was killed in the summer of 2014.
As previously reported, Michael Brown’s close-range, execution-style killing by former Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson set off a string of contentious rallies and riots in the suburban St. Louis town that reverberated throughout the country and rippled all the way to the White House.
In the past two weeks, one or more individuals set fires to the churches which The Fire Department’s captain unequivocally deemed arson. Police are investigating the episodes as a potential hate crime.
“It is arson. That’s why law enforcement is involved in this entire investigation,” said Captain Garon Mosby of the St. Louis Fire Department, according to CBS News.
There are no reported casualties or injuries. Some of the church parishioners are already in a forgiving state of mind.
“My job is to love (them),” said Pastor David Triggs of New Life Missionary Baptist Church. “And I’ve forgiven this individual. We are going to tear down and rebuild.”
Police and fire officials told the media that there is no evidence uncovered as of yet that would connect the crimes. However, investigators say they have all started the same way: in the front two doors of the church.
The first church fire occurred on Oct. 8. The fire damages on the five churches range from minimal to almost complete destruction, all taking place within proximity to one another in north St. Louis County.
