A prior dispute between two men may have sparked the shooting death of a 26-year-old Morgan Park man, police said.

Robert White, of the 11500 block of South Vincennes Avenue, and a 25-year-old man were sitting in a vehicle in the 9600 block of South Charles Street at about 10 p.m., July 10 when a man walked up and fired multiple shots. White, 26, died a short time later at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn of gunshot wounds to his chest and shoulder, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said. Police said the second man was listed in critical condition at Christ with multiple gunshot wounds. The unidentified gunman is not in custody. ______ Copyright 2008 Chicago Defender.
